Talking Support

The 8:56 Talk and Support team run free, social groups for Men. They give people the opportunity to socialise, build friendships and get peer support with others. We offer peer support over a digital platform and our friends Fen Zen offer monthly face to face sessions at the fire circle.

Talking therapy gives men the opportunity to talk with a fully trained and accredited practitioner, these sessions are funded by the 8:56 Foundation

If you would like to join a Talk and Support group or interested in talking therapy, you can register your interest by filling out our form.

About Peer Support

Peer support is when people use their own experiences to help each other. There are different types of peer support, but they all aim to:

  • bring together people with shared experiences to support each other
  • provide a space where you feel accepted and understood
  • treat everyone’s experiences as being equally important
  • involve both giving and receiving support.
The 8:56 Men’s Time To Talk Group is a safe space to encourage Men and hope they can feel empowered to discuss Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The 8:56 Foundation aims to raise awareness, increase the profile of support and reduce the stigma associated with mental health. By using sport as an aid we want to encourage men to talk and reduce the risk of loneliness and isolation

Men’s Fire Circle – The benefits of sitting in circles with other men, around a fire, no pressure to talk, but the opportunity to share time, space, and community.

Refreshments provided.
This is a free event but donations gratefully received!
